This notification announces the appointment of several officers from the State Civil Service of Punjab to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). These appointments are made on probation, effective March 3, 2011, and are in compliance with a High Court order and relevant service rules. The officers are allocated to the Punjab Cadre. The notification includes select lists for vacancies from 2007, 2008, and 2009, and supersedes a previous notification from August 2009. NOTIFICATION
In compliance with the order dated 29.11.2010 of the Hon’ble High Court of Punjab \& Haryana in OA No. 19589/2010 (filed by Shri H.S. Pabla) and in exercise of the powers conferred by Rule 8(1) of the Indian Administrative Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954 read with Regulation 9(1) of the Indian Administrative Service (Appointment by Promotion) Regulations, 1955 and Rule 3 of the Indian Administrative Service (Probation) Rules, 1954, the President is pleased to appoint the following members of the State Civil Service of Punjab to the Indian Administrative Service against the vacancies determined by Government of India under Regulation 5(1) of the said Regulations in consultation with the State Government for the Review Select List of 2008 and year wise Select Lists 2008A and 2009 on probation until further orders and to allocate them to the Punjab Cadre, under Rule 5(1) of the Indian Administrative Service (Cadre) Rules, 1954 :-
