Appointment of Punjab State Civil Service Officers to Indian Administrative Service – Select List 2023

A

Four distinguished officers from the Punjab State Civil Service have been formally appointed to the highly coveted Indian Administrative Service (IAS) as part of the 2023 Select List. This significant development sees Rajdeep Singh Brar, Bikramjit Singh Shergill, Harshuinder Pal Singh Brar, and Rubinderjit Singh Brar joining the IAS, allocated to the Punjab Cadre. Their appointments are currently probationary, signifying an initial period of assessment before full confirmation. It is crucial to be aware that these promotions are provisional and subject to the final decisions of several ongoing legal cases currently before the Hon’ble High Court of Punjab and Haryana and the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Chandigarh Bench. Furthermore, the communication includes directives for various administrative follow-ups, such as the preparation of proposals for seniority fixation and year of allotment, ensuring a smooth transition and integration for the newly inducted officers.
