Subject: Appointment in the grade of Sr. Principal Private Secretary (Sr.PPS) of Central Secretariat Stenographers’ Service (CSSS) for the Select List Year 2022 (Part.)- reg.
In continuation to this Department’s O.M. of even number dated 23.08.2022 and 01.09.2022, approval of the President is hereby conveyed for inclusion of the following officers in the Select List Year of Selection Grade of CSSS i.e. Senior Principal Secretary for the year 2022, as given below:

- The other terms and conditions of promotion to the Sr.PPS grade on regular basis are same as contained in this Department’s O.M. of even number dated 23.08.2022.
- The Ministries/Departments shall ascertain the vigilance status of the concerned officer before assumption of charge/issuance of notification. In case of any discrepancies, relating to vigilance clearance of an officer, the same may be brought to the notice of this Department at the earliest.
- The appointment of these officers as Sr.PPS on regular basis will be effective from the date of their assumption of charge. These officers shall continue to be posted in the same Ministries/ Departments, where they are posted at present, until further orders.
- The notification for appointment issued by the concerned Ministries/Departments in respect of the officers as Sr.PPS on regular basis shall be subject to further orders that may be passed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the Jarnail Singh batch of cases (Civil Appeal No. 629 of 2022 arising out of SLP (C) No. 30621 of 2011).
- A copy of the notification should invariably be forwarded to this Department for record on the same day at socs2a-dopt@nic.in. If any of the officers included in Sr.PPS Select List Year – 2022 who cannot be appointed to the grade of Sr.PPS on regular basis, the same may also be brought to the notice of this Department immediately along with reasons.
- Promotion of officers may please be updated by the cadre units concerned in the Web Based Cadre Management System.
