This document details the third amendment to the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965, effective from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. The amendments, made under the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution and rule 33 of the aforementioned rules, primarily focus on modifying the Schedule. Specifically, it substitutes entries related to “Section Officers’ Grade of the Central Secretariat Service excluding Section Officers with Class I status” and “Central Secretariat Stenographers Service, Grade I.” It also mandates substitutions for “Central Secretariat Service, Grade IV” and “Central Secretariat Stenographers Service, Grades II and III” with “Assistants’ Grade of the Central Secretariat Service” and “Central Secretariat Stenographers Service, Grade II,” respectively. The changes outline revised disciplinary and appellate authorities based on the serving location of the member within various government ministries, departments, and attached offices, including provisions for specific offices like the Ministry of Finance (Defence Division) and the Union Public Service Commission.
