NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 6th September, 2013
G.S.R.605(E).-In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the All India Services Act, 1951 (61 of 1951), read with Section 61(3) of the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganisation) Amendment Act, 2012 and sub-rules (1) and (2) of rule 4 of the Indian Police Service (Cadre) Rules, 1954, the Central Government, in consultation with the Government of Manipur, hereby makes the following regulations further to amend the Indian Police Service (Fixation of Cadre Strength) Regulations, 1955, namely:-

  1. (i) These Regulations may be called the Indian Police Service
    (Fixation of cadre Strength) Amendment Regulations, 2013.
    (ii) They shall come into force from 24.12.2012.
  2. In the schedule to the Indian Police Service (Fixation of Cadre Strength) Regulations, 1955, for the heading “MANIPUR-TRIPURA” and the entries occurring there under, the following shall be substituted namely:-“MANIPUR

Foot Note : Consequent on Amendment in the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganization) Act, 1971, a separate cadre of the Indian Administrative Service, a separate cadre of the Indian Police Service and a separate cadreof the Indian Forest Service have been constituted for the States of Manipur and Tripura vide Ministry of Law \& Justice (Legal Department) vide Notification dated 24.12.2012.

Note (1): Prior to issue of this notification, the Total Authorized Strength of the Indian Police Service of Joint Manipur-Tripura Cadre was 156.
Note (2): The principal regulations were published in the Gazette of India vide SRO No. 3350 dated $22^{\text {nd }}$ October 1955. These were subsequently amended in respect of the Indian Police Service of Joint Manipur-Tripura Cadre by the following GSR Nos. and dates:
