The government has amended the Fundamental Rules of 1922, specifically Rule 56, to increase the superannuation age for General Duty Medical Officers and Specialists in the Central Health Service to sixty-five years. This change applies to officers in teaching, non-teaching, and public health sub-cadres and comes into effect upon its publication in the Official Gazette. The Fundamental Rules were originally published in 1922 and were last modified in 2014.

सा.का.नि. 567(अ).–राष्ट्रपति, संविधान के अनुच्छेद 309 के परन्तुक द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए, मूल नियम, 1922 का और संशोधन करने के लिए निम्नलिखित नियम बनाते हैं, अर्थात् :–
- (1) इन नियमों का संक्षिप्त नाम मूल (संशोधन) नियम, 2016 है।
- (2) ये राजपत्र में उनके प्रकाशन की तारीख को प्रवृत्त होंगे।
- मूल नियम, 1922 के नियम 56 में, खंड (खख) के स्थान पर, निम्नलिखित खंड रखा जाएगा, अर्थात् :–
(खख) केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य सेवा के शिक्षण, गैर-शिक्षण और जन स्वास्थ्य उप-काइयों में सम्मिलित साधारण ड्यूटी चिकित्सा अधिकारियों और विशेषज्ञों के संबंध में अधिवर्धित की आयु पैसठ वर्ष होगी।

G.S.R. 567(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to the article 309 of the Constitution, the President hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Fundamental Rules, 1922, namely :-
- (1) These rules may be called the Fundamental (Amendment) Rules, 2016.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. - In the Fundamental Rules, 1922, in the rule 56, for clause (bb), the following shall be substituted, namely:-
(bb) The age of superannuation in respect of General Duty Medical Officers and Specialists included in Teaching, Non-Teaching and Public Health Sub-cadres of Central Health Service shall be sixty-five years.
