The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has issued a notification amending the Fundamental Rules, 1922. These amendments, known as the Fundamental (Second Amendment) Rules, 2017, specifically impact members of the Teaching, Non-Teaching, Public Health Specialists, and General Duty Medical Officer sub-cadres of the Central Health Service. The key change stipulates that these personnel will now hold administrative posts until they reach the age of 62 years. Following this, their services will be transitioned to non-administrative positions. This amendment comes into effect upon its publication in the Official Gazette.
