New rules have been introduced to amend the Central Information Commission (Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ posts) Recruitment Rules, 2012. These amendments, officially titled the Central Information Commission (Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ posts) Recruitment (Amendment) Rules, 2014, will take effect upon their publication in the Official Gazette. Specifically, the rules pertaining to the ‘Assistant’ position have been updated. Under the ‘Deputation’ section, sub-clause (ii) of clause (a) has been revised. The updated clause now specifies that candidates for deputation should have ten years of service in their grade, rendered on a regular basis, with a pay band-I of Rs. 5,200-20,200 and a grade pay of Rs. 2,400, or an equivalent in their parent cadre or department. This amendment supersedes previous provisions and was issued under the authority of the Right to Information Act, 2005.

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 12th June, 2014
G.S.R. 407(E).-In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) read with clause (d) of sub-section (2) of section 27 of the Right to’ Information Act, 2005, (22 of 2005), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules to amend the Central Information Commission (Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ posts) Recruitment Rules, 2012, namely :-
- (1) These Rules may be called the Central Information Commission (Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ posts) Recruitment (Amendment) Rules, 2014.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. - In the Schedule to the Central Information Commission (Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ posts) Recruitment Rules, 2012, against the entries relating to the post “Assistant” in column (11), under the heading Deputation, for sub-clause (ii) of clause (a), the following sub-clause shall be substituted, namely :-
” (ii) with ten years service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis in the pay band-I, Rs. 5,200-20,200 plus grade pay of Rs. 2,400 or equivalent in the parent cadre or department; and”
