The President, in exercise of powers conferred by the Constitution and after consulting the Comptroller and Auditor General, has amended the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965. These amendments, known as the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Amendment Rules, 1976, will come into effect upon their publication in the Official Gazette. A new note has been inserted under sub-rule (8) of rule 14, which states that a government servant shall not seek assistance from another government servant who has two pending disciplinary cases in which they are required to provide assistance.

S.O. 4664.-In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 and clause (5) of article 148 of the Constitution and after consultation with the Comptroller and Auditor General in relation to persons serving in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department, the President hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965, namely:-
- (1) These rules may be called the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Amendment Rules, 1976.
