All-India Services (Dearness Allowance) Rules, 1972 Notification

A

A significant development for All-India Service members was formalized with the introduction of new rules concerning Dearness Allowance. These regulations, officially known as the All-India Services (Dearness Allowance) Rules, 1972, became effective on April 1, 1972. They precisely define who qualifies as a “member of the Service” by referring back to the All-India Services Act of 1951. Under these rules, eligible members are entitled to receive Dearness Allowance, with the specific rates determined and announced periodically by the Central Government. For any ambiguities or questions regarding the interpretation of these rules, the Central Government will serve as the final authority for clarification and decision. This formal notification ensures clarity and consistency in the provision of dearness allowance across the All-India Services.
