OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject:- Registration of Non-statutory Departmental/Co-operative Canteens/Tiffin Rooms located in Central Govt. Offices with Director (Canteens).
The undersigned is directed to say that vide this Department’s O.M. of even number dated the 27th November, 1992 on the subject cited above following decision regarding registration of Canteens/Tiffin Rooms was communicated:-
- Requests for registration of canteens/tiffin rooms received for the first time after 11.10.91 shall not be considered.
- Cases of registration already rejected for want of fulfilling the laid down criteria shall also not be reopened.

However, the cases where a back reference has been made by the office of the Director (Canteens) seeking clarifications etc. in respect of proposals received from the respective Ministry/Department/Office before 11.10.91 and whose replies have come after 11.10.91 would be examined on merits of each case as per the criteria already laid down.
The Ministries/Departments etc. were requested to forward as immediately as possible such cases falling in the category (iii) above with full justification and copies of previous correspondence for consideration according to the laid down criteria.

- It has now been decided that consideration of cases for registration falling under (iii) above will be closed after 31st July, 1993.

All the Ministries/Departments are requested to note that no correspondence-clarifications regarding registration of canteens/tiffin rooms falling in the above category would be considered after 31st July, 1993. They are also requested to bring this to the notice of their attached and subordinate offices.
