Subject: Implementation of Assurance given in the Rajya Sabha in respect of Question No. 463 dated 23rd February, 2006 asked for by Shri Karnendu Bhattacharjee and Shri Manoj Bhattacharya.
The undersigned is directed to state that for implementation of the aforesaid Assurance in the Rajya Sabha, the following information in respect of Under Secretary grade of the CSS as on 23rd February, 2006 is required immediately :-
i) Total number of sanctioned posts of Under Secretary;
ii) The number of SC, ST and OBC officers;
iii) Percentage of SC, ST and OBC officers of the total strength of the Ministry/Department.
2. It is requested that the aforesaid information may please be furnished to this Department as early as possible and latest by the 5th November, 2008 so that the long pending Assurance may be implemented immediately.
