OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Empanelment of Under Secretaries of the C.S.S. for posting as Protector of Emigrant-I (Rs. 15,600-39,100+6600) in the office of the Protector of Emigrants, Thiruvananthapuram under the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs.
The undersigned is directed to enclose O.M. No. A-22012/02/2005-PA dated $24^{\text {th }}$ April, 2009 from the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs on the subject mentioned above and to invite applications from the Under Secretaries of the CSS for deputation to the post of Protector of Emigrants-I in the office of the Protector of Emigrants at Thiruvananthapuram in band 3 pay scale with the grade pay of Rs. 6600. Willing officers may submit their application in the prescribed proforma to the undersigned through the administrative Ministry/Department where they are working at an early date and latest by $20^{\text {th }}$ May, 2009.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Empanelment of Under Secretary CSS Officers for posting as Protector of Emigrant-I (Rs. 15600-39100+6600) in the Office of Protector of Emigrant at Thiruvananthapuram, Under the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs.
It is proposed to empanel eligible and willing CSS officers (Under Secretary level) for posting as Protector of Emigrant-I in the pay scale of Rs. 15600-39100+6600 in the Office of Protector of Emigrant at Thiruvananthapuram, on transfer/loan basis for a period of three years.
- The post of Protector of Emigrant-I is a duty post of Under Secretary included in the CSS cadre and no deputation (duty) allowance is admissible on appointment. It is also clarified that the Ministry of Overseas India Affairs is not liable to provide any residential accommodation. Only the persons holding the posts of Under Secretary of the CSS cadre are eligible to apply. The tenure of the officer selected shall ordinarily be three years. During the tenure, the officer can be transferred to any other office of POE depending on exigencies of work. Knowledge of local language, i.e. language related the place of posting, is desirable.

The eligible and willing officers from all Central Ministries/Departments of the Govt. of India belonging to the CSS cadre who can be spared for transfer on loan basis may apply in the prescribed proforma (as per Annexure enclosed) in duplicate through their Ministries/Departments and their applications should reach Under Secretary (Admn.), Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, Room No. 934, Akbar Bhawan, Satya Marg, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi by 31st May, 2009 along with attested photocopies of the ACRs for the last five years and vigilance clearance.

Applications which are incomplete and/or are received after the due date shall not be entertained.

The panel prepared will be valid for a period of one year.
