Exciting news for government services! A significant administrative decision has been announced, focusing on enhancing secretarial and stenographic support across various Ministries and Departments. Forty-five Principal Private Secretary (PPS) posts within the Central Secretariat Stenographers’ Service (CSSS) are being upgraded to the level of Senior Principal Private Secretary (Sr. PPS). This move is aimed at ensuring that all Secretary and equivalent officers receive high-level assistance on an equal footing. The upgrade is effective immediately, with the flexibility to ensure that these newly designated Sr. PPS positions are filled as PPS officers are promoted, while existing posts continue to function as PPS until then. This initiative reflects a commitment to strengthening the administrative backbone of the government.

Subject: – Up-gradation of 45 posts of Principal Private Secretary of CSSS (Rs. 15600-39100 (PB-3) + Rs. 6600 (Grade Pay) to the level of Senior Principal Private Secretary (Rs. 15600-39100 (PB-3) + Rs. 7600 (Grade Pay).
The undersigned is directed to say that it has been decided to upgrade 45 posts of Principal Private Secretary (PPS) (Rs. 15600-39100 (PB-3) + Rs. 6600 (Grade Pay) to the level of Senior Principal Private Secretary of Central Secretariat Stenographers’ Service (CSSS) (Rs. 15600-39100 (PB-3) + Rs. 7600 (Grade Pay) so as to provide secretarial/stenographic assistance to all Secretary/equivalent officers working in the Ministries/Departments of the Government participating in the Central Secretariat Stenographers’ Service at the level of Sr. PPS on equal footing. Accordingly, sanction of the President is hereby conveyed to the up-gradation of 45 (forty five) posts of PPS to the level of Sr. PPS of CSSS, with immediate effect, in different Ministries/Departments as indicated in the Annexure to this OM.
- In order to ensure that the upgraded posts shall not remain vacant, there would be flexibility to the extent that these 45 upgraded posts would be fully operated as and when PPS of CSSS are promoted against these posts and till such time these posts would continue to be operated at the level of PPS.
