Subject: Appointment of Under Secretaries (in-situ) as Under Secretaries (ad-hoc) of Central Secretariat Service (CSS) in 2003-04.
The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department’s Office Memorandum No. 21/10/2004-CS.I dated $24^{\text {th }}$ March, 2004 on the subject mentioned above wherein this Department had authorized Ministries/Department to appoint the then Under Secretaries (in-situ) as Under Secretaries on adhoc basis, subject to the condition inter-alia, that they were clear from vigilance angle. It is noted that 767 Section Officers were officiating as in-situ Under Secretary in various Ministries/Departments, participating in the Central Secretariat Service Scheme in March, 2004 and they were required to be promoted as Under Secretary on ad-hoc basis after ascertaining vigilance clearance.
2. It is requested that information regarding the exact date of promotion from ‘in-situ’ to Ad-hoc’ of those Under Secretaries may kindly be furnished to this Department in the prescribed proforma overleaf, urgently and in any case not later then $26^{\text {th }}$ March, 2009. The information be sent only by e-mail on cecilluther@gmail.com by the due date. In case no e-mail/fax is received by the due date, information would be presumed as ‘nil’ in respect of the concerned Department.
