This order extends the ad-hoc appointment period for Under Secretaries, initially appointed through a series of prior orders from 2010 and 2011, by one year – until May 31, 2013, or until the positions are filled on a regular basis. The extension applies to all continuously serving Under Secretaries appointed on an ad-hoc basis under the specified orders, excluding those whose promotions have been cancelled. The continuation of the ad-hoc promotion remains subject to the original conditions outlined in the aforementioned Department orders.

ORDER
Subject: Under Secretaries working on ad-hoc basis – Extension of period for one year beyond 31.05.2012.
The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department’s following orders for promotion of Section Officers of the CSS to the grade of Under Secretary on ad-hoc basis:
(i) No.5/3/2010-CS.I(U), dated 26.05.2010;
(ii) No.5/3/2010-CS.I(U), dated 03.09.2010;
(iii) No.5/3/2010-CS.I(U), dated 11.11.2010;
(iv) No.5/7/2011-CS.I(U), dated 11.08.2011; and
(v) No.5/7/2011-CS.I(U), dated 15.12.2011.
The tenure of ad-hoc appointment of the officers covered under the above orders which is upto 31.05.2012, is hereby extended upto 31.05.2013 or till the posts are filled up on regular basis, whichever is earlier.
- This order will be applicable to all such officers who are continuously holding the post of Under Secretary on ad-hoc basis as per aforementioned orders. This order will, however, not be applicable to those officers whose promotions were cancelled subsequently. The continuation of the ad-hoc promotion beyond 31.05.2012 is subject to the conditions as mentioned in this Department’s aforementioned orders.
