Subject: Ad-hoc promotion to Deputy Secretary Grade-seeking options reg.

The undersigned is directed to say that it is proposed to promote and/or post the following officers to the grade of DS on ad-hoc basis against the existing vacancies:

  1. The existing vacancies in the grade of DS/Director are given in the annexure to this OM. The officers concerned are requested to exercise their option latest by 28.10.2014. Maximum three choices withing the available vacancies may be exercised.
  2. While exercising option it may be kept in mind that those officers who have not completed the prescribed tenure under RTP for the promotion post i.e. five years in the current Ministry/Department will not be transferred provided a vacancy existsin that very Ministry/Department to adjust the officers on promotion. In the absence of a vacancy, such officers shall be transferred from that Ministry/Department.
  3. Such option may be sent by e-mail to the undersigned at the e-mail address given below. If option is not received by 28.10.2014, it will be presumed that the officer has no specific choice and posting will be decided by the Placement Committee accordingly.
