Extension of Ad-hoc Deputy Secretary Appointments

This Office Memorandum details the extension of ad-hoc appointments for officers of the Central Secretariat Service (CSS) promoted to the grade of Deputy Secretary. The extension is approved up to June 30, 2015, or until regular appointments are made, whichever comes first, contingent upon vigilance clearance. The extension applies to current ad-hoc appointees and those who retired between December 11, 2014, and the date of this memorandum, excluding those whose promotions were cancelled. Ministries and Departments are requested to report any vigilance concerns regarding the officers.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Promotion to the Grade of Deputy Secretary on ad-hoc basis – Extension of period beyond 11.12.2014.

The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department’s Orders No. 4/3/2013-CS.I(D) dated 12.12.2013 and 03.02.2014, and Orders No. 4/2/2014-CS.I(D) dated 15.05.2014 and 21.05.2014 appointing Officers of Grade-I (Under Secretary) of the Central Secretariat Service (CSS) to the Selection Grade (Deputy Secretary) on ad-hoc basis. The tenures of ad-hoc appointment of some of the officers covered under the above orders are for different periods.
2. The Competent Authority has approved the extension of the period of ad-hoc appointment of all the Officers covered under the above Orders up to 30.06 .2015 or till the posts are filled up on regular basis or till further orders, whichever is earlier, subject to vigilance clearance.
3. The above stated approval for extension up to 30.06 .2015 on ad-hoc basis will be applicable to all such officers who are holding the post of Deputy Secretary on ad-hoc basis as per aforementioned Orders and also to those officers who have retired between 11.12.2014 up to the date of issue of this Office Memorandum. The approval will, however, not be applicable to those officers whose promotions were cancelled subsequently. The continuation of the ad-hoc promotion is subject to the conditions mentioned in this Department’s aforementioned Orders.
