Extension of Ad-hoc Promotion to Director, CSS upto 30.06.2016

This Office Memorandum details the extension of the ad-hoc appointment period for officers promoted to the grade of Director within the Central Secretariat Service (CSS). The extension is approved up to June 30, 2016, or until the posts are filled on a regular basis, whichever comes first, contingent upon vigilance clearance. This applies to all officers currently holding the position of Director on an ad-hoc basis, excluding those whose promotions have been cancelled. Ministries and the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) are requested to communicate any vigilance concerns regarding the concerned officers.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Promotion to the Grade of Director, CSS on ad-hoc basis- Extension of period upto 30.06.2016

The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department’s Order No. 3/1/2011-CS-I(D) dated 30.04.2014, 02.05.2014, 13.05.2014, 28.05.2014, 17.07.2014 and 10.11.2014 for promotion of Deputy Secretaries of the CSS to the grade of Director on ad-hoc basis. The tenures of ad-hoc appointment of the officers covered under the above orders are for different periods.

  1. The Competent Authority has approved the extension of the the period of ad-hoc appointment of the all the officers covered under the above Orders up to 30.06.2016 or till the posts are filled up on regular basis or till further orders, whichever is earlier, subject to vigilance clearance.

  2. The above stated approval for extension up to 30.06.2016 on ad-hoc basis will be applicable to all such officers who are holding the post of Director on ad-hoc basis as per aforementioned Orders. The approval will, however, not be applicable to those officers whose promotions were cancelled subsequently. The continuation of ad-hoc promotion is subject to the conditions mentioned in this Department’s aforementioned orders.
