The case of promotion of Shri Tarsem Lal to Senior Selection Grade (Director) of the Central Secretariat service (CSS) for the year 2008, which was previously kept in sealed cover, has been reviewed. Following an order from the Central Administrative Tribunal, Principal Bench, New Delhi, the sealed cover was opened, and Shri Tarsem Lal has been deemed fit for promotion. As a result, his name has been included in the Select List of Senior Selection Grade (Director) CSS for 2008, placed above Ms. Gayatri Sharma on the list. Additionally, his name will be removed from the Select List of Senior Selection Grade (Director) of CSS for the year 2011.

Sub: Revision of Select Lists for Senior Selection Grade (Director) of the Central Secretariat Service for the year 2008 – reg.
The undersigned is directed to say that the case of promotion of Shri Tarsem Lal (CSL No. 3568) to Senior Selection Grade (Director) of the Central Secretariat service (CSS) for the year 2008 was kept in sealed cover. In compliance of Hon’ble Central Administrative Tribunal, Principal Bench, New Delhi Order OA No.488/2011 dated 18th January, 2012, sealed cover of Shri Tarsem Lal has been opened and he has been found fit for promotion against the Select List year 2008. With the approval of the competent authority it has been decided to include his name in the Select List of Senior Selection Grade (Director) CSS for the year 2008.
2. Accordingly, in partial modification of the annexure to this Department’s OM No.3/2/2009-CS-I(D) dated 29th September, 2009 circulating the Select List for Senior Selection Grade (Director) of CSS for the year 2008, the name of Shri Tarsem Lal, Deputy Secretary of 1994 (CSL No.3568) is placed at the top of the Select List for Senior Selection Grade (Director) at S.N. 0 above the name of Ms. Gayatri Sharma, Deputy Secretary of 1996 (CSL No. 2127), whose name appears at S.N.1. The name of Shri Tarsem Lal is included in the Senior Selection Grade (Director) Select List 2008 is as under:
