The Indian government has finalized the distribution of new and reallocated positions within the Central Secretariat Service across several key ministries and departments. This initiative stems from a thorough review of requests for additional staff at various levels, including Director, Under Secretary, Section Officer, and Assistant Section Officer. The approved allocations draw from a reserve created during the 3rd Cadre Restructuring of the Central Secretariat Service, as well as posts that were either inoperational or surrendered by other cadre units. Notably, several departments, including Chemicals & Fertilizers, Civil Aviation, Economic Affairs, Health and Family Welfare, Personnel & Training, and Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, will see adjustments to their sanctioned strength. A specific mention highlights that four posts earmarked for the Department of Economic Affairs will be counted against the parent cadre of the Department of Expenditure. It’s also important to note that no Assistant Section Officer positions were available for allocation at this time. This decision underscores the government’s ongoing efforts to optimize administrative structures and human resources across its various functions.
