Good news for many Upper Division Clerks (UDCs) aspiring to become Assistants! A recent government decision has clarified their ad-hoc promotions, addressing previous adjustments in vacancy numbers. While initial nominations saw a slight revision due to updated figures from the Department of Higher Education, many new opportunities have emerged in various departments. As a result, 49 UDCs have been officially re-nominated to new Assistant positions. It’s important to note that any UDCs previously nominated to the Department of Education whose names aren’t on this new list will see their original nominations stand. This ensures a clear path forward for these dedicated public servants.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Promotion of UDCs to Assistant on ad-hoc basis – reg.
The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department’s O.M. of even number dated 15.2.2007 on the subject mentioned above and to say that after nomination of UDCs to different cadres for appointment as Assistant on ad hoc basis, the vacancy position in respect of Assistant has been revised downward by the Department of Higher Education, thereby necessitating review of the nomination of some UDCs by this Department. Meanwhile, some more vacancies became available in other cadres also.
- Accordingly, in partial modification of this Department’s O.M. of even number dated 15.2.2007, it has been decided to re-nominate 49 UDCs, whose names are given in the Annexure. The nomination of those UDCs nominated to D/o Education and whose names do not figure in the Annexure will remain unchanged.

Other terms and conditions of the O.M. dated 15-2-2007 remains the same.
