A recent decision by the Government of India has affirmed the allocation of a Deputy Jailor, Shri Shailendra Pratap Singh, to Uttarakhand. This decision follows a thorough review of his representation, which was prompted by a High Court order from December 12, 2007. A dedicated committee, after careful deliberation on June 23, 2009, concluded that his initial assignment to Uttarakhand was consistent with the established reorganization guidelines. The personal reasons cited for his appeal, including concerns for ailing parents, domicile preferences, and health issues related to cold for himself and his spouse, were found not to fall within the purview of the state reorganization policy. As a result, his request for a change was denied, and the government has upheld the committee’s recommendation, ensuring his continued service in Uttarakhand. This final resolution is now being communicated to all relevant officials.

Subject: Decision on the representations submitted by Shri Shailendra Pratap Singh, Dy. Jailor Jail Department in compliance of High Court Allahabad, Lucknow Bench order dated 12.12.2007.
Sir,
I am directed to refer to the directions of the Hon’ble High Court, Lucknow Bench order dated 12.12.2007 and to say that the representation of Shri Shailendra Pratap Singh, Dy. The Committee found that his allocation to Uttarakhand under juniormost category is as per guidelines. Further the ground of his ailing parents, domicile and allergy of self and wife from cold is not covered under the guidelines of State reorganization and as such recommended for rejection of the representation.
The Government of India has accepted the recommendation of the committee and accordingly Shri Shailendra Pratap Singh, Dy. Jailor . shall continue in Uttarakhand. Officer concerned may kindly be apprised of the position.
Yours faithfully,
(S.Nayak)
