A significant administrative decision has been finalized regarding the posting of an Assistant Geologist. Following a thorough review by a State Advisory Committee in late 2009, and considering that the individual, Shri Mani Karnika Mishra, was originally part of the Hill Cadre before Uttarakhand’s formation, a recommendation was made. This decision was also influenced by a pending writ petition in the High Court concerning the matter. The Government of India has officially accepted this recommendation, ensuring that Shri Mani Karnika Mishra, an Assistant Geologist with the Public Works Department, is now formally allocated to Uttarakhand, in line with existing general orders.

Sir,
I am directed to refer to the minutes of the meeting of State Advisory Committee, held on 26.08.2009 and to say that the representation of Shri Mani Karnika Mishra, Asstt. Geologist, Public Works Deptt. was considered by the Committee. The Committee was informed by Departmental Representative that Shri Mishra was posted in the Hill Cadre before creation of Uttarakhand. Taking into account the information provided by the Deptt. and also in view of the fact that a WP was pending in the High Court in the matter, which was filed by Shri Mishra, the Committee noted that he should be allocated to Uttarakhand, as per the general order dt. 11.09.2001.
The Government of India has accepted the recommendation of the Committee and accordingly Shri Mani Karnika Mishra, Asstt. Geologist, Public Works Deptt. stands- allocated to Uttarakhand.
