The Central Government, in accordance with Section 76 of the Uttar Pradesh Reorganization Act, 2000, has extended the term of Shri G.N. Mehra (IAS 1955 UP-Retired) as Chairman of the State Advisory Committee. This extension is for a period of six months, effective from October 1, 2001, or until further orders, whichever comes first. The committee assists the Central Government in its functions related to state government employees, excluding those in All India Services. The terms of Shri G.N. Mehra’s appointment remain unchanged. Copies of this order have been sent to the Chief Secretaries of Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, as well as to Shri G.N. Mehra himself.

ORDER
In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 76 of the Uttar Pradesh Reorganization Act, 2000 and in continuation of this Department’s orders of even number dated 01.01.2001, the Central Government is pleased to extend the term of appointment of Shri G.N. Mehra (IAS 1955 UP, Retired), as Chairman of the State Advisory Committee, to assist the Central Government in discharging its functions in regard to the State Government employees other than All India Services for a further period of 6 months w.e.f. 1st October, 2001 or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The terms of his appointment would remain unchanged.
