The Central Government has extended the term of the Chairman of the State Advisory Committee, Uttar Pradesh. This decision, made under the powers granted by the Uttar Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2000, follows a previous order from December 8th, 2005. The committee, chaired by Shri Vishwanath Anand (a retired IAS officer from Uttaranchal), plays a crucial role in assisting the Central Government with its functions concerning State Government employees, excluding All India Services. The extension is effective until September 30th, 2006, or until further orders are issued, whichever comes first. Importantly, the terms of Shri Vishwanath Anand’s appointment as Chairman will remain unchanged. The order has been communicated to the Chief Secretaries of Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, as well as to Shri Vishwanath Anand himself.

ORDER
In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 76 of the Uttar Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2000 and in continuation of this Department’s order of even number dated $8^{\text {th }}$ December, 2005, the Central Government is pleased to extend the term of the State Advisory Committee, Uttar Pradesh under the Chairmanship of Shri Vishwanath Anand (IAS: Uttaranchal:1965- Retired) to assist the Central Government in discharging its functions with regard to the State Government employees, other than All India Services, till $30^{\text {th }}$ September, 2006 or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The terms of the appointment of the Chairman shall remain unchanged.
