Government Order: Formation of Committee for Uttar Pradesh Reorganization

In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 76 of Uttar Pradesh Re-organisation Act, 2000, the Central Government hereby discontinues the Committee constituted under the Chairmanship of Dr. S.K. Sarkar the then J.S. (A.T. \& A \& CS), vide this Department’s order of even number dated 12.11.2007, and constitutes in its place a new Committee under the Chairmanship of Joint Secretary to the Government of India, dealing with the issues States reorganisation, to assist the Central Government in completion of final allocation of State Government employees between the successor State of Uttar Pradesh and Uttrakhand.
2. The Committee would also consider the pending / deferred cases of final allocation of various departments and any other work assigned by the Central Government from time to time.
3. The composition of the Committee is as under:-

(i) Joint Secretary, dealing with the issues of State
Re-organisation.
Chairman
(ii) Principal Secretary / nominee coordinating the
Reorganization Work in Uttar Pradesh.
Member
(iii) Principal Secretary / nominee coordinating the
Reorganization Work in Uttrakhand.
Member
(iv) Secretary / nominee of concerned Department of
Uttar Pradesh
Member
(v) Secretary / nominee of concerned Department of
Uttrakhand
Member
(vi) Deputy Secretary (SR) Member Secretary
  1. The Chairman may co-opt any other officer as member to assist the committee.
  2. The Uttar Pradesh Coordination and Reorganisation Department will provide secretarial assistance.
  3. This issues with the approval of Secretary (P).
