The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has recently greenlit a significant inter-cadre deputation, allowing a distinguished Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer to serve in a new capacity. Shri Lalrinliana Fanai, an IAS officer from the 1997 batch of the Uttarakhand cadre, and currently on central deputation, will now be moving to the Mizoram segment of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre. This move is for a period of three years and has been approved based on personal grounds. Such deputations are crucial for fostering administrative flexibility and enabling officers to gain diverse experience across different state administrations, while also addressing individual needs.
