A recent decision by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has granted an important extension for Shri G. Akheto Sema, an Indian Police Service officer from the 1992 batch, originally of the Madhya Pradesh cadre. His inter-cadre deputation to the Nagaland cadre, which initially spanned three years, has now been prolonged for an additional two years, effective from September 19, 2015. This extension, approved on personal grounds, ensures the continuity of his service in Nagaland. This move highlights the dynamic nature of personnel management within the Indian administrative services, where central committees play a crucial role in approving and overseeing the postings and tenures of senior officers across different states.
