In a recent official development, a significant personnel change within the Indian Police Service has been formally approved. Shri Viku L. Achumi, an IPS officer from the 2022 batch, will be undertaking an inter-cadre transfer. Previously serving in the Tamil Nadu cadre, the officer has now been assigned to the Assam-Meghalaya cadre. This strategic move, which originated as a proposal from the Ministry of Home Affairs, received its final clearance from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. Such transfers are a standard part of cadre management, ensuring optimal deployment of administrative talent across the country and facilitating effective governance.
