A committee has been constituted, with the approval of the Prime Minister, to consider proposals for extending the service of specialists in scientific and medical fields beyond the age of 62. This extension can be for a period of two years and is effective immediately. The committee will be chaired by the Cabinet Secretary, with members including the Secretaries from the Department of Bio-technology, Ministry of Earth Sciences, and Department of Personnel & Training. Additionally, for officials in mission-oriented agencies like the Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space, the respective Secretary will also be a part of the committee.

Subject:- Constitution of the Committee for extension of service of Scientists beyond 60 years of age and limited upto 64 years of age.
The undersigned is directed to say that the Prime Minister has approved that the composition of the Screening Committee for considering proposals for extension in service of specialists in scientific and medical fields beyond the age of 62 years would be as under,for a period of 2 years, with immediate effect:-
Cabinet Secretary
Chairman
Secretary, Department of Bio-technology : Member
Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences : Member
Secretary, Department of Personnel \& : Member
Training
3. In the case of officials belonging to mission oriented Agencies like the Department of Atomic Energy or the Department of Space, the Secretary of the Department concerned will also be associated with the Committee.
