This Office Memorandum announces an amendment to the Central Staffing Scheme, specifically concerning the Central Establishment Board. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the deletion of references to the constitution and functions of the Central Establishment Board from the DoPT’s Office Memorandum No. 36/77/94-EO (SM-I) dated January 5, 1996. A Hindi version of this memorandum will be provided separately. The memorandum is addressed to Chief Secretaries of State Governments/Union Territories, Secretaries of all Ministries/Departments of the Government of India, and various offices within the Prime Minister’s Office, Cabinet Secretariat, and the Department of Personnel & Training.

Subject: Amendment of Provisions in Central Staffing Scheme relating to Central Establishment Board — regarding
Attention is invited to DoPT’s OM No. 36/77/94-EO (SM-I) dated 5th January, 1996, relating to the Central Staffing Scheme.
- The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the amendment in DoPT’s OM No. 36/77/94-EO (SM-I) dated 5th January, 1996, which prescribes guidelines relating to Central Staffing Scheme, to the extent that the constitution, functions and other references relating to the Central Establishment Board mentioned in para 20 and 22 of the said OM would stand deleted.
