In an official notification, the President has authorised Shri Rajiv, a Vigilance Commissioner, to temporarily assume the role of Central Vigilance Commissioner. This appointment is effective from September 29, 2014, and will last until a new Central Vigilance Commissioner is appointed. This measure is being taken to fill the vacancy created by the completion of Shri Pradeep Kumar’s tenure as Central Vigilance Commissioner. The authority for this action stems from the powers granted under sub-section (1) of section 10 of the Central Vigilance Commission Act, 2003.

का. आ. 2538(अ).—राष्ट्रपति, केंद्रीय सतर्कता आयोग अधिनियम, 2003 (2003 का 45) की धारा 10 की उपधारा (1) द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए, श्री राजीव, सतर्कता आयुक्त, केंद्रीय सतर्कता आयोग को श्री प्रदीप कुमार, केन्द्रीय सतर्कता आयुक्त की पदावधि पूरी होने के कारण हुई रिक्ति पर, तारीख 29 सितम्बर, 2014 से केन्द्रीय सतर्कता आयुक्त की नियुक्ति होने तक, केन्द्रीय सतर्कता आयुक्त के रूप में कार्य करने के लिए प्राधिकृत करते हैं।

S.O. 2538(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 10 of the Central Vigilance Commission Act, 2003 (45 of 2003), the President is pleased to authorise Shri Rajiv, Vigilance Commissioner, Central Vigilance Commission, to act as the Central Vigilance Commissioner, in the vacancy caused due to completion of the tenure of Shri Pradeep Kumar, Central Vigilance Commissioner, with effect from the 29th day of September, 2014, until the appointment of the Central Vigilance Commissioner.
