Promotion of State Civil Service Officers to Indian Administrative Service

This notification announces the promotion of several officers from the Uttar Pradesh State Civil Service to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). These appointments are made in accordance with the Indian Administrative Service (Recruitment) Rules and Regulations, following an order from the High Court of Delhi. The promotions cover vacancies identified for the Review Select List of 2004, and the Select Lists of 2004-A and 2005. These officers will be on probation until further orders and have been allocated to the Uttar Pradesh cadre. The notification also mentions that appointments based on the Review Select List of 2004 are in addition to those previously notified. Furthermore, it clarifies that specific appointments are subject to the outcome of an Original Application filed with the Central Administrative Tribunal.

NOTIFICATION

In pursuance of order dated 14.11.2008 of Hon’ble High Court of Delhi in W.P No.19103-04 of 2006 filed by Sh. Hemraj Singh Chauhan and others and in exercise of powers conferred by Rule 8(1) of the Indian Administrative Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954, read with Regulation 9(1) of the Indian Administrative Service (Appointment by Promotion) Regulations, 1955, the President is pleased to appoint the following members of the State Civil Service of Uttar Pradesh to the Indian Administrative Service against the vacancies determined by Government of India under Regulation 5(1) of the said Regulations in consultation with the State Government for the Review Select List of 2004 (vacancies arisen between 1.1.2003 to 31.12.2003) and Select List of 2004-A(vacancies arisen between 1.1.2004 to 31.12.2004) and 2005 (vacancies arisen between 1.1.2005 to 31.12 .2005 ) on probation until further orders and to allocate them to Uttar Pradesh cadre of IAS, under Rule 5(1) of the Indian Administrative Service (Cadre) Rules, $1954:-$
