The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) has extended the timelines for recording of Performance Appraisal Reports (PARs) for the year 2023-24 for all All India Services (AIS) officers by one month. This decision was made in light of the General Election, 2024, which may have impacted officers’ ability to submit self-appraisals or review remarks on time. The revised cut-off dates are: Self Appraisal by 31st July, 2024; Appraisal by Reporting Authority by 30th September, 2024; Appraisal by Reviewing Authority by 30th November, 2024; and Appraisal by Accepting Authority by 31st December, 2024. No remarks can be recorded after 31st December, 2024. This relaxation is a one-time measure.

Sir / Madam,
I am directed to refer to DoPT’s letters vide dated 27.05.2024 regarding extension of timelines for recording of PARs for the year 2023-24. In this regard, it has come to notice that some AIS officers have not submitted self-appraisal of PARs and also some officers may not be able to review and record their remarks in PARs on time due to engagement in completion of General Election, 2024.
- Accordingly, the matter has been duly considered in this Department. Therefore, keeping in view of the circumstances and in order to ensure filing of PARs by all AIS officers, it has been decided to further extend the timelines of PAR by 01 month, as indicated below:
