The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) has extended the timelines for recording Performance Appraisal Reports (PARs) for the year 2023-24. This decision comes after noting that some All India Services (AIS) officers have not yet submitted their self-appraisals or had their performance reviewed. The revised deadlines provide an additional 15 days for each stage of the appraisal process. Specifically, self-appraisal is now due by August 15th, 2024, appraisal reporting by October 15th, 2024, reviewing authority remarks by December 15th, 2024, and accepting authority remarks by December 31st, 2024. It is crucial to note that no remarks can be made after December 31st, 2024, as per the AIS (PAR) Rules, 2007.

Sir / Madam,
I am directed to refer to DoPT’s letters vide dated 27.05.2024 and 28.06.2024 regarding extension of timelines for recording of PARs for the year 2023-24. In this regard, it has come to notice that still some AIS officers have not submitted self-appraisal of PARs and also some officers may not be able to review and record their remarks in PARs.
- Accordingly, the matter has been duly considered in this Department and keeping in view of the circumstances and in order to ensure filing of PARs by all AIS officers, it has been decided to further extend the timelines of PAR by 15 days, as indicated below:
