The Central Government, in consultation with the Government of Manipur, has issued amendments to the Indian Police Service (Pay) Rules, 2007. These amendments, called the Indian Police Service (Pay) Amendment Rules, 2013, came into force on December 24, 2012. The changes specifically impact Schedule II-A and Schedule II-B, which deal with the pay scales and posts for police officers under the State Government. The amendments involve substituting certain entries related to “Manipur-Tripura” with new details concerning posts carrying pay above the time scale of the Indian Police Service and posts carrying pay in the Senior Scale of the Indian Police Service. This action aims to update and clarify the pay structure and designation of various police positions within Manipur.

G.S.R.606(E).-In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the All India Services Act, 1951 (LXI of 1951), the Central Government, in consultation with the Government of Manipur hereby makes the following Rules further to amend the Indian Police Service (Pay) Rules, 2007, namely: –
(i) These rules may be called the Indian Police Service (Pay) Amendment Rules, 2013.
(ii) They shall come into force from 24.12 .2012
