This document details the fifth amendment to the Indian Administrative Service (Fixation of Cadre Strength) Regulations, 1955, specifically concerning the state of Orissa (now Odisha). It outlines the revised allocation of senior duty posts within the state government, including positions like Chief Secretary, District Magistrates, and various Directors. The regulations specify the number of posts at each level, minimum tenure requirements, and reserves for central deputation, state deputation, training, leave, and junior posts. It also addresses the proportion of posts to be filled by promotion versus direct recruitment. The amendment was made in consultation with the Orissa government and aims to update the cadre strength and allocation of administrative positions within the state.
