This notification details amendments to the Indian Administrative Service (Appointment by Selection) Regulations, 1997. Specifically, it modifies the age criteria for candidates considered by State Governments. NOTIFICATION
G.S.R. ……..(E).-In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the All India Services Act, 1951 (61 of 1951), the Central Government, in consultation with the Government of States concerned and the Union Public Service Commission hereby makes the following regulations further to amend the Indian Administrative Service (Appointment by Selection) Regulations, 1997, namely: –
(1) These regulations may be called the Indian Administrative Service (Appointment by Selection) Amendment Regulations, 2015.
(2) They shall come into force with effect from the date of their publication in the official Gazette.
2. In the Indian Administrative Service (Appointment by Selection) Regulations, 1997, in regulation 4 in the sub-regulation (1), for the first proviso, the following proviso shall be substituted, namely: –
“Provided that the State Government shall not consider the case of a person who has attained the age of fifty-six years on the first day of January ofthe year for which the decision is taken to propose the names for the consideration of the Committee:”
