The Government of India has approved the transfer of Mr. Himanshu Agarwal, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, to the Punjab cadre. This transfer is based on his marriage to Mrs. Komal Mittal, also an IAS officer of the Punjab cadre (PB:14). The order is issued under the provisions of Rule 5(2) of the Indian Administrative Service (Cadre) Rules, 1954, with the consent of both the Uttar Pradesh and Punjab governments. This is a standard procedure for inter-cadre transfers within the IAS based on marriage.

केन्द्र सरकार, एतद्वारा भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा (संवर्ग) नियमावली, 1954 के नियम 5 के उप-नियम (2) द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए उत्तर प्रदेश तथा पंजाब सरकारों की सहमति से श्री हिमांशु अग्रवाल, भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा (यूपी:14) को श्रीमती कोमल मित्तल, भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा (पीबी:14) से विवाह होने के आधार पर उत्तर प्रदेश संवर्ग से पंजाब संवर्ग में स्थानांतरित करती है।
