The Central Government has approved the transfer of Ms. Natisha Mathur, IAS (GJ:2020) from the Gujarat cadre to the Maharashtra cadre, based on her marriage to Mr. Jivan Devashish Beniwal, IPS (MH:2022). This decision has been made using the powers conferred by sub-rule (2) of Rule 5 of the Indian Administrative Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954, and with the consent of the governments of Gujarat and Maharashtra. This highlights the government’s policy regarding inter-cadre transfers of civil servants upon marriage.
