The central government has recently approved the inter-cadre transfer of an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. Ms. Pratiksha Singh, from the 2023 batch of the Bihar Cadre, will now be moving to the Uttar Pradesh Cadre. This decision was made on the grounds of her marriage to Shri Devesh Chaturvedi, an IPS officer from the 2022 batch, who is serving in the Uttar Pradesh Cadre. This move, facilitated under the Indian Administrative Service (Cadre) Rules, 1954, received the concurrence of both the Bihar and Uttar Pradesh State Governments, ensuring a smooth transition for the officer. Relevant state chief secretaries and other administrative bodies have been informed to take the necessary action for her relief and joining.

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (2) of Rule 5 of the Indian Administrative Service (Cadre) Rules, 1954 and with the concurrence of the State Governments of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, the Central Government hereby transfers Ms. Pratiksha Singh, IAS (BH:2023) from Bihar Cadre to Uttar Pradesh Cadre on grounds of marriage to Shri Devesh Chaturvedi, IPS (UP:2022).
