In a significant administrative move, the Central Government has announced the inter-cadre transfer of an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. Ms. Vevotolu Kezo, from the 2023 Maharashtra cadre, will now be serving in the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, specifically within the Meghalaya Segment. This decision, made under the established Indian Administrative Service (Cadre) Rules, 1954, reflects a collaborative agreement among the governments of Maharashtra, Assam, and Meghalaya. The transfer is set to streamline administrative functions and ensure optimal deployment of talent across states. Relevant state chief secretaries and accountant generals have been notified to facilitate a smooth transition, including the timely relieving of the officer from her current post and the submission of her joining report in the new cadre.

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (2) of Rule 5 of the Indian Administrative Service (Cadre) Rules, 1954 and with the concurrence of the State Governments of Maharashtra, Assam and Meghalaya, the Central Government hereby transfers Ms. Vevotolu Kezo, IAS (MH:2023) from Maharashtra cadre to Assam-Meghalaya cadre (Meghalaya Segment).
