An officer of the 2022 batch, she will be moving from the Tripura cadre to the Rajasthan cadre. This significant career change has been made possible on the grounds of her marriage to Shri Sujit Shankar, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the 2020 batch, currently serving in the Rajasthan cadre. Such transfers facilitate family unity within the All India Services, ensuring that officers can maintain their professional duties while also attending to personal commitments. The move was executed in accordance with the established rules governing the Indian Administrative Service and received the necessary concurrence from both the Tripura and Rajasthan State Governments. In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (2) of Rule 5 of the Indian Administrative Service (Cadre) Rules, 1954, and with the concurrence of the State Governments of Tripura and Rajasthan, the Central Government hereby transfers Ms. Charu, IAS (TR:2022) from Tripura cadre to Rajasthan cadre on grounds of marriage to Shri Sujit Shankar, IPS (RJ:2020).
