IAS Officer Ms. Kanika Transferred to AGMUT Cadre on Grounds of Marriage

I

In a recent administrative development, Ms. Kanika, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the 2022 batch, has been officially transferred from the Assam-Meghalaya cadre to the AGMUT cadre. This significant move was made under the provisions of the Indian Administrative Service (Cadre) Rules, 1954, specifically on the grounds of her marriage. Ms. Kanika is set to marry Sh. Utkarsha, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the 2021 batch, who is currently serving in the AGMUT cadre. This decision highlights the established procedures within the civil services for accommodating personal circumstances, such as marriage, while ensuring adherence to administrative regulations. The transfer involved necessary consultations and concurrence from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the State Governments of Assam and Meghalaya, underscoring the collaborative governance involved in such personnel movements.
