An important update has been issued by the government, modifying the pay structure for various key positions within the Indian Police Service. These changes, effective from their official publication date, revise the compensation for roles that command pay above the standard time-scale or include special pay components. Specifically, the updated regulations introduce new emoluments for senior officers in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), including the Director, Additional Director, Joint Directors, Deputy Directors, and Deputy Inspectors General. Furthermore, Assistant Directors, Assistant Inspectors General, and senior Superintendents of Police in local branches or central units with nationwide jurisdiction will also see adjustments to their pay scales. This move aims to streamline and update the remuneration framework for these vital public servants, ensuring that their critical roles are appropriately compensated within the broader administrative structure.
