N O T I E I C A T I O K

S.O. ……………. In exercise of the powers conferred by the
proviso to article 309 read with clause (5) of article 148
of the Constitution, and in consultation with the Comptroller
and Auditor-General in regard to the employees of the
Indian Audit and Accounts Department, the President hereby
makes the following further amendments in the Central
Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1964, namely:-

  1. (1) These rules may be called the Central Civil
    Services (Conduct) Amendment Rules, 1978.

(2) In the Central
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their
publication in the Official Gazette.

  1. In the Central Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1964, for
    the proviso to sub-rule (3) of rule 15, the following
    shall be substituted, namely:

“Provided that a Government servant may take part
in the registration, promotion or management of –

(i) a literary, scientific, or charitable society or
of a company, club or similar organisation the
aims and objects of which relate to promotion
of sports, cultural or recreational activities,
registered under the Societies Registration
Act, 1860 (21 of 1860) or the Companies Act, 1956,
or any other law for the time being in force;
or

(ii) a cooperative society substantially for the
benefit of Government servants registered
under the Cooperative Societies Act, 1912 (22
of 1912) or any other law for the time being
in force.”
