Notification

G.S.R. In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 and clause (5) of article 148 of the Constitution and after consultation with the Comptroller and Auditor General of India in relation to the persons serving in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department, the President hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Fundamental Rules, namely:

  1. (1) These rules may be called the Fundamental (Amendment) Rules, 2010.
  2. (2) They shall be deemed to have come into force from the 1st day of January, 2006.

In the Fundamental Rules, in rule 49, in clause (iv), for the letters and figures, “Rs. 26000”, the letters and figures “Rs. 80,000” shall be substituted.

Explanatory memorandum:

The Central Government has decided to implement the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission relating to the existing pay of Rs. 26,000/- (admissible to the Secretary to the Government of India) which has been revised to Rs. 80,000/-. With a view to implement these recommendations, rule 49 of the Fundamental Rules is amended accordingly from the 1st day of January, 2006.

It is certified that no one is likely to be adversely affected by giving retrospective effect to this rule.
