This notification announces the appointment of Shri Justice P. Shanmugam, the Vice-Chairman of the Central Administrative Tribunal’s Madras Bench, to act as the Chairman of the Central Administrative Tribunal. This appointment is effective from January 19, 2007, and will continue until a new Chairman is appointed and assumes office, or until Shri Justice P. Shanmugam reaches the age of sixty-five, or until further orders are issued, whichever event occurs first. The notification is issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India.

NOTIFICATION
S.O. (E) In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 7 of the Administrative Tribunals Act, 1985 (13 of 1985), the Central Government hereby authorizes Shri Justice P. Shanmugam, Vice-Chairman, Central Administrative Tribunal, Madras Bench to act as Chairman, Central Administrative Tribunal, with effect from the 19th January, 2007 until the date on which a new Chairman, appointed in accordance with the provisions of Administrative Tribunals Act, 1985 (13 of 1985) enters upon his office, or the date on which Shri Justice P. Shanmugam attains the age of sixty five years or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.
